The Voices of Experience initiative was launched by the Department of Energy's Advanced Grid Research group (DOE|AGR) to capture the experiences, insights and lessons learned from the utilities at the forefront of implementing emerging technologies. Artificial intelligence—the development of computer systems able to perform tasks that normally require human intelligence—is gaining traction in the electric power industry. Utilities are finding that it has potential across the utility value chain including customer services, smart grid, outage management, asset management, supply chain and market operations to name a few. At the same time, there are barriers for utilities that will pose challenges—at least in the near term. DOE|AGR has partnered with the Utility Analytics Institute to explore how artificial intelligence may help improve utility operations and identify where the challenges are and what other utilities are learning through their own experience.
You are invited to join the Voices of Experience|Artificial Intelligence working group to share your experience and insights and learn from other utilities. The workshop is hosted by CPS Energy and scheduled for January 30, 2020 in San Antonio, TX. Attendance is restricted to utility employees only.
