Michael Roth has been a professional journalist for almost 40 years, working for a variety of publications. He has worked for Rental Equipment Register (RER) for 29 years and has been editor in chief for 24 years covering the equipment rental industry full time. Roth has written tens of thousands of articles for RER, in print and online, visited many hundreds of rental businesses and the manufacturers that supply them, and interviewed thousands of industry professionals in at least a dozen countries. He has given dozens of talks and presentations about the equipment rental industry in the United States and in several other countries, in English and in Spanish, and has organized and moderated a few dozen webinars. He has attended dozens of equipment rental and equipment conventions and trade shows in several countries. Under Roth’s leadership, RER has won Jesse H. Neal Awards, Maggie Awards from the Western Publishing Association, and ASBPE awards from the American Society of Business Publication Editors. Although he frequently travels to industry events, he lives and works in Los Angeles.
